New member. No mechanical experience. Trying to improve that...
I have a '67 CA-77E. I bought it in non-running condition. The kickstart lever is stuck in the "Up" position. I've read several threads to try and remedy my problem. First I pulled the spark plugs out, and sprayed with PB penetrating catalyst. This did nothing.
Next I put the bike in neutral, it rolls fine. I then put the bike in gear, the back tire locks ups when I try to push it. I took off the Right side Crankcase cover. I was able to turn the motor with a socket wrench pretty easily. I believe this means the motor is not seized?
I assume my next step is to disassemble the right side of the motor? Take a peak inside and see what's happening? Or maybe I should lube up the grease fitting next to the kickstart? (I need to get a grease gun. Like I said, I have no mechanical experience)
Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this "rookies" post.

I definitely don't want to force the kickstart down. Just not sure where to go from here. I'm sure one of the mechanical guru's on this forum will lend some advice. Hope you get your problem figured out...

What turns on the right side? The transmission. or the crank? The crank has the round rotor bolted to it with a 14mm head bolt.

The crank turns. Should I have posted this problem under engines? Again, I have no mechanical experience. Please forgive my ignorance. Thanks in advance!

OK, so engine is not frozen. Does the trans turn with the cover off? Try pushing the bike in gear.
