Lol, no problem. I'm sure the sale of any authentic race parts to these bikes will make for a really nice build in return. Post up when you start things up next summer.

Hi,

This 5 speed isn't complete, so don't expect the same figures as other ebay actions.
It needs the very hard to get shift drum and forks, and some other small parts.

Thanks for pointing that out Jensen, I should have mentioned that the drum, forks and some bits and pieces were in the plastic bag with the gear set when I found it.
I didn't include everything when I took the pic because I was balancing it on top of a sprint car slick and it was all I could handle without dropping it.
The last time we know of the trans being used was when he raced his flat tracker at the San Jose Mile about 15 years ago, here's a couple of pics of that bike (set up for a short track) that I took at his memorial service last spring.
I don't know these transmissions and can't confirm that it's complete without comparing it to a parts list (that we don't have) but knowing that guy, I'd be willing to bet that it's all there.
Keep in mind that it's not my trans and I don't know if it will end up on ebay or not but I asked my pal to let me post it on the Forum to give you guys a shot at it first, contact me if you're interested.

I just butt into your website 20 minits ago... got a mane etc...
I have one of these racers with everything etc. Its in a basket because of the installation and rebore of some spare cylinders that was never put back together.
I must have traded that around 1993 on ducati single 450 and never really did anything to it other than change the grease diapers in the boxes. I have that seat they show on ebay and lots of books , parts etc... I am going to go take a look at that gear box thous. the bike has 3 tanks race kit etc mufflers, a neat plastic box of jets and plenty of gears parts. i thought at first that the racer must have blown some gears and abandon the project... but maybe there is a five speed in there. Odd enough there is a spare shift barrel....
I am not into racing at all but I do have some bikes that other would race.
I was going on this site to see if and how them racers run without the charching system because it is nowhere to be found?
Does racers run without the charging system?
On my next visit I'll post some pics of that brouhaha!
Thanks for the Nova racing tip co, I had no clue of it.

5 speed box

Post by GORDON BROWN » Fri Jan 07, 2011 12:10 pm

Hello everyone

I just recently stripped my 250 engine and thought a picture of the 5 speed Honda gearbox components might be usefull for refrence. Both the selector drum and the forks are diffrent from std.
