Chris, all rotors are stamped CB72, opr CB72(L). Did you test the leads at points with a test light while rotating engine? If so, you may have a bad condenser. Make sure black wires are attached to + side of coil, green to right - and yellow to left - .

The power goes through the points to the coils. When the points are closed, it charges the coils, then the points open, it fires the plugs. It sounds like the points are closed if the coils are getting warm.

Hear is how I test them. Take a screwdriver and open the points. You should see a spark on the points when this happens. If you are not getting a spark, get a 12V test light. You can get these cheap at a auto parts store. Ground the test light, then touch the wire where it connects to the points. You should get a light on both sides.

If you have power to both points and you can't make the plugs spark by manually opening the points, your may have a problem in the plug cables or plugs.

Look in the FAQs here for instructions on how to set the points. You will need your test light for setting the points.
