64 cb72 and 66 cb77 lift handle correct for both?

ok so would a 64 cb72 have a lift handle from the factory as well as my 66 cb77?? when did they start putting them on?

Thumper, I may be wrong but I believe they started installing them in 65. They will fit on any CB. Cliff

I've wondered the same thing. I have a very nice CB72 and it was obvious to me that it never had the handle. Another friend of mine at the time told me that in 64 it came on the CB77, but not the CB72 (I think I'm going to add one to mine...)

The lift handle was, I believe, market-dependent; e.g. it was fitted to US models during '65 and onwards, but not necessarily other Euro, Domestic Jap or Canadian markets. It is a great seat-pan saver!

When fitting, get the height and angle right, as adjustment is quite fine between the handle fouling the shock absorber and the bracket wings the fender. I removed my rear wheel & fender and drilled/tapped a short M6 screw through the rear clamp and into the frame so as to prevent its position shifting under lift-load.
