CB77 value?

Post by cedestech » Mon Aug 31, 2009 9:59 pm

I know it's a loaded question...

Looking for "ballpark"...

I have a 67, black and silver, 9K miles, titled, was driving about a year ago, Very original, looks like the only thing not original is the new/period tires the previous owner put on to drive.

Motor has great comression, looks like it needs all the cables, the rubber bits, air filters and carbs cleaned, new seat pad (cover is great) and a battery. No rust on paint or chrome. Basicly just a freshen up and clean up and it'd be a solid 9/10 bike. The rectifier isn't even discolored.

I'm asking because I have a project already and though this scooter is cool I already know I'd do what is mentioned abouve then sell it.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Emmett.

Sorry. Been lurking. Recieved this on a trade a few weeks ago. It's real cool but I don't see
"riding" it much.

Someone here looking for a quick, easy restore or do I fix it up and pimp it on Ebay.

FWIW, I rebuilt a barn fresh Dnepr from the ground up last year. I have built a ton of bikes over the years. I took this and a 72 Sportster on trade for the Dnepr a few weeks ago. I wanted the
Sportster, this was a nice bonus.

I have learned that every odd bike has a online comunity devoted to it. That is why I am here.

Now... does anyone have a ballpark range it is worth as is. Titled, antique tags, VERY clean.

It was a trade, I have no cash into it. I saw one exactly like it go for $3K on ebay last week. Obviously it was a runner but I think this one would actually be nicer when cleaned up. I'm sure that is a bogus auction or a fluke but one that was almost museum condition might be close to that price if you could find someone with a real want for one.

It will be at least 6 months before I get to it and like I said I really am not "into it" so I'm thinking someone on a sight like this would like to get it and redo it themselves.

I won't put a whole bike on Ebay. Craigslist brings out the nutters. TWT would probably be next on the list but I thought I'd try here first.

Anyway. All I have seen here for sale is either "barn fresh" or completely restored. Hard to judge what something like this would be worth. Hence the questions.

FWIW, google my user name. I have been into bikes for a little more then a while...

;)

Here's a pic from my "inspiration bike" archive, from an auction last year I think...an earlier model, hard to tell much about how perfect it is or isn't from low-res pic. Pretty sure that throttle cable doesn't go with the low handlebars...something looks a little funny about the seat, too.

From what I can tell on this forum, folks here don't ever sell their bikes, they just keep buying more. :-)...
