looking to buy a 305 dream anything i should look for?
ok i guess i'm a sucker for a sob story. i just bought a 68 dream today for a gentleman that had a stroke and couldn't ride it anymore. so i bought it and yep it has some a little problem ( sticky clutch ) its been sitting for a little over a year. it starts right up and its hard to shift, i read a lot of sticky clutch posts and i'm gonna start it warm it up and drive it around the block several times and see if it'll get going again?
he also put some signal lights on the beast and converted the light switch over to a signal switch everything looks normal and works but the lights?????
is the Bill Silvers restoration books, cd's the way to go?
hers a few pics of big baby

Two good local finds in a row, good work!
I found a reference on that type of seat being introduced some time in 1966. It was in reference to a question on a CB, but I would imagine it would be the same situation on a CA. Someone else may be able to give a more definitive answer.
The usual clutch problem from sitting is stuck, no release at all, not sticky. Once it's broken free, by whatever method, it should work normally. If not, it would be worth pulling the left cover off and taking a look.
California requires headlights at all times. If he'd been riding it, maybe he wired it direct and you have a bad bulb. I'd pull the bulb and check for power there, then work my way back. Just a thought.

Looks like a late CB77 seat. It's got to be more comfortable than the CA77 seat! I'd like to see the underside of that seat to see if is modified to fit the Dream or built that way.OldStan wrote: I found a reference on that type of seat being introduced some time in 1966.
