Ignition switch and steering lock were keyed-alike when new. Your best, and cheapest, route to success, which may be quite a lengthy wait, would be to trawl eBay for a T-series steering lock; then take it and a T4644 key to a good locksmith who would be able to make the ignition lock key fit.

I recently had a CA ignition switch tumbler "re-keyed" by a local locksmith for $45. The steering lock and ignition have the same number on them. But, a PO had apparently lost the keys and removed most of the pins in the ignition tumbler so that any Honda key would work to turn the switch.

The locksmith said that this style tumbler with the pins is old enough that he didn't know where to get parts. I had an extra CL switch that I took to him and he took pins out of it that he made fit. The tumbler works like new now.

Probably best to find an old locksmith who has done work on tumblers with pins. They are not rocket science, but you will want it right. If you are very adventurous, you might even try it yourself.

NOS switches are pretty pricey and you would likely not find one that would match your column lock. The key will be to find the right locksmith, but it was a lot cheaper for me and I got the right result.

I have a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee and recently lost one of the keys. The replacement quote I have is AUD $713 for the key/fob and a further $150 to program it to the car. My biggest concern is with the cost of the key, then i call my friend who work with Locksmith Hollywood FL and really they are best.

Really? Why would someone in Idaho call some spammer locksmith in Florida more than five years later???????

A good Locksmith can take apart the lock and make new keys or rekey a new pattern for you. Since they depend on their reputation, they are inclined to do honest work and know that the bike is yours. That means they might check to see if the bike is stolen. You can even rekey the lock yourself, but most people don't know how to use a hammer, punch, grinder, and work with little brass and steel parts.
