Can you post a picture of your switch and key?

I'm sorry, I don't know how to resize my pic to fit......

It is the original ignition, I am the second owner. Its a 1966, It has been garaged its whole life, just about 5,ooo miles on it.
I took the ignition out to look about. I found a code: 6QL11E

Does this make sense?????

The number should be on the face of the ignition switch. Right next to where you put the key in.

Does the old key work? Does the old key have NA266 stamped on it? Does the new key look like the old key?

key

You can post a picture temporarily in the classifieds without having to re-size.

Sounds like someone may have changed the switch at one time and used one from a different bike.

Hard to say without pics.

everything everyone made sense....I just learnes that the ignition was changed while it was sitting in the garage for the next user because the original owner lost the key..................I find this out today after all the research..... It is a honda "T" shaped key marked 11E

No one seems to have a blank.......I have a key, it is fragile....bummer.

Pic, Joel? Whole key and then the end (the pointy bit) so that we can see the flute profiles.

It looks like I have two different tumblers for my ignition and steering lock.. .
ignition has T4644 stamped on it
steering lock has NA820 stamped on it
"DL" key that fits the ignition has 67LC stamped on it
smaller "DL" key that fits ignition (but has side grooves that are different from larger key) has HD26 stamped on it

With a gentle little wiggling I can get basically any small key partially into the steering lock and turn it.

What's the best route here? Try to get another key to match the steering lock? Can either ignition or steering lock be rekeyed so they match?

And.. did CA77s ship from factory with matching ignition and steering locks? (so a PO of this bike swapped the ignition switch at some point long, long ago)
