Hi G-Man, these are the guys ( its a young lady actually) i've been using for years, she took over from her dad who's now happily retired building model traction engines!!

And yes, I thoroughly recommend them, & they have a very good reputation & only 3 miles from me.
Brian & the girls are very busy at Prestige & I had to wait over 4 months this time, but since I'm only 10 miles from them, if you give me a bell with your arrival time & i'll pop across for a coffee & a sticky bun!!
PM sent with mob No.

What I ended up with was a brand new chain guard for a cb125 for £20. The top half fitted with almost no mods, just needed to relocate two of the holes. The lower half needed a strip about 30mm added to its length. It looks ok but if you look closely you can see the join is upside down but I can live with that. The carb covers were another problem so I bought a sheet of 3mm ally and after making a cardboard template managed to fabricate a passable replica. With a skim of filler and a coat paint they look fine, total cost was about £8.
What year cb125 did you get the chain guard from?

Sorry, I can't be specific on the year of the bike, I just did a search of chain guards until I saw a likely candidate. It was a cb125 but they made them for many years, the top half virtually fitted with no mods except to relocate the mounting holes. The lower half needed a strip, full length of the guard about 30mm wide welded on. It is a lot more flimsy than the original metalwork but once it is mounted it's fine.

Sorry I misled you, I did a search of my eBay purchases and found the chain guard I bought, it is from a Honda Innova ANF125 2003- 2009 and I got it from MAX-HONDA-SPARES and cost £24.99

UNBELIEVABLE!!
I can't believe my luck, after a total nut & bolt rebuild, I just guessed the timing & ignition, & using a tiny little lithium-iron battery, put fuel in, switched on, pressed the starter & she was running before I let go, nice & smooth, with an even tickover, & absolutely everything was working just fine.
I had to completely alter the original wiring loom & alternator as I fitted new L&R switch gear consisting of a left assembly with hi-lo, horn & indicator switch, then a R/hand unit comprising lights off/on/main, & starter button, this right unit included the twist-grip so the original helix assy had to go!!
Full alternator output now feeds into a solid-state regulator/rectifier, also fitted an adjustable-rate flasher unit.
My home-made carb-cover (No.6) 'almost' fits, No.7 coming up!
Also managed to 'alter' (cut & re-weld) the pattern silencers from hanging-down to hanging-up!

Excellent job, shame about the silencer fit, like you, I had to compromise with my silencers. I'm currently using a short megaphone type until I find either some originals or good pattern ones.
