Hello, my name is Jonathan and I just discovered this forum while trying to learn more about my newest acquisition.
I just picked up a 1966 Honda Dream 300, and it has a couple features I haven't seen researching the bike.
It has a little front fender winged ornament.
It also has a quilted seat, that if not original, is definitely aged.
And it also came with a set of Buco? saddlebags that have a solf quilted pad added to the top of each container. I've never seen this before either.
Can anyone shed any light on these peculiarities?
Thanks and I look forward to learning more from the Forum (and hopefully contributing) as I get more into this new project!
Jonathan

Hi,
Welcome to the forum. Your question has been answered already on the hondatwins forum, not happy with the answer ? On how many forums did you ask the same question ?
btw, the mufflers are modern replacements.
Enjoy your bike !

Hey sorry, I wasn't trying to spam. I didn't notice a lot of activity in that subcategory of Honda Twin where I was already a member because of another bike I have so I figured I would join this forum as it seems more specific.
Anyway, no offense intended.
Thanks for the clarification and extra bit about the mufflers. I appreciate it.

Well, job one is to convince my wife it's not as weird looking as she thinks it is so I can keep it and sell my Cb200.
My theory usually is to keep it original unless someone else has already messed with it too much already - but I've seen interesting seat swaps with a solo "bobber" style seat. I like the proportions of that more than with the longer stock seat - which this bike doesn't seem to have an original anyways.
There is some minor damage to rear flare of the front fender to fix. I've seen some people cut this flare off and it makes me want to cry.
Anybody had luck putting decent "stock-looking" turn signals on these bikes so I have less chance of becoming a grease spot on Chicago streets?
The little fender hood ornament is staying. I like that funky little detail.

The Dreams had indicators ( Winkers) on the bars. Some where round and some were rectangular like these. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-TURN-SINGAL ... 38&vxp=mtr
The rear will be tricky if you are putting bags on. The originals fitted directly to the rear shock alloy bracket in countries other than US. You might need to fashion something up.
Note the Ca92, Ca95 indicators and switch are the same and just 6V but the bulb can be changed out. Just more options as there are seemly more repo parts for the C92 CA92 etc.
