Hello again fellow Honda-ists!!
After the CB77 resto, I did a 750 Triumph & a BSA scooter, but i'm back again this time with a 64 CA77, so will be asking more questions from all you experts out there.
My (at the moment) biggest concern is that as you all know the frame backbone is a box-section steel pressing/s, & I always sand-blast all tin work clean, but with this one, there will be internal areas that cannot be reached, so what do you guys do??
Ideally, it should be sent off someplace & 'dipped' but do I need to go that far?
What i'm thinking is to go in with my very small gun & blast as best I can with zinc-phosphate via the large openings, will that suffice??
Having said all that, there isn't much rust anyway!
Its missing the lower chain-guard & the 2 alloy carb-covers, anyone got these to sell me?

Hi there, I Had the same parts missing from bike, for the chain guard, having dismissed the £250 asked on eBay I looked for a cheaper alternative. What I ended up with was a brand new chain guard for Honda Innova ANF125 and cost £25. The top half fitted with almost no mods, just needed to relocate two of the holes. The lower half needed a strip about 30mm added to its length. It looks ok but if you look closely you can see the join is upside down but I can live with that. The carb covers were another problem so I bought a sheet of 3mm ally and after making a cardboard template managed to fabricate a passable replica. With a skim of filler and a coat paint they look fine, total cost was about £8.

If this price is genuine doesn't seem bad.

Thats great, thanks, i'll look out & see if I can find something similar.
I like the alloy cover & I too was thinking about alloy, but I have no alloy-welding gear.
I have already fabricated a pair of vac-formed units, rough at the moment, made as a concept to see if its viable, & I will either make from ABS or GRP, not sure yet!!
Pic of 'MK1' shape is wrong, but MK11 should be a bit more like it!!

casamere, I jumped in & 'ordered' the covers only to find 'no longer available' !!
Thanks anyway.

Once again, great job, vacuum forming is an area I've not investigated but you produce some really good replicas. When I made mine from aluminium I used Lumiweld which does not need proper welding equipment, a propane blow torch is sufficient, just like soldering really. Your advantage is once you have the mold you can produce as many as you want. I can see a market there, they seem to be one of the most commonly missing items.

New stainless rims & spokes & tyres, everything blasted & painted, rewired to take modern regulator/rectifier, lotsa chroming done, & now have a 'rolling-chassis'!
Not a fan of 'high-bars, so I fitted a low set.

Cases back from blasters, engine nearly rebuilt.

I painted it according to G-mans research, thank you sir.
