1967 CL77

Not quite a restoration log yet but I though I would post some pics of my CL77 restoration. The bike arrived as a (in)complete basket case so I have been trawling through this site for hints and tips on what parts I need and how it should go together. I had to quite a bit of welding on the frame to tidy up the rear end and replace a missing fender bracket and stoplight mount.

Today I got around to adding some color to the parts which have been sitting in gray primer during an unseasonable spell of bad weather.

The sun came out this weekend so I got started on those parts which were ready to go. The colour is a non-standard metallic blue (trophy blue) used on recent MG cars in the UK. I think that it will go nicely with the silver fenders and tank. Hopefully Mr Honda won't mind as he used a similar colour on later Hondas in the UK.

Managed to get a NOS front fender which had nasty paint runs on the original finish.
