Here's an update on what I was able to locate on Ebay, looks like I've stumbled upon BOTH CA78 batteries; early frame and later one (both are acid type which is fine by me). I'm trying to wake up the '67 305 for an upcoming show, she's been well cared for except I must've gotten behind on keeping the battery plates covered.
Early frame, roughly 7.375 x 2.56 x 5.5 inch: I was able to locate one on Ebay but now the sale has ended so no point in listing the link.
Later frame - better refer to Brewsky's response for this, I've still got more research to do here.
I hope this helps. I guess trying to find the older style may be just a matter of luck (or a scam). My advice would be to just keep looking at available sites, a replacement battery could always show up.
Thanks for all the advice.

Sealed version of that battery: https://www.battery2batteries.com/yuasa ... otorcycle/brewsky wrote:It would be easier to connect to the ground strap if you find one with the negative terminal on the left. I use 12n9-3a.
Again...not sure if it's an "exact" fit...but it lists in the xref.

Replacement for 67 CA78 old style battery
I guess I should've started this thread like this from the beginning, my apologies to the group. The battery cables were extended by previous owner so I can use battery with terminals reversed from original (pos on L, neg on R), works better this way. I was hoping to be able to use the tool tray but it'll likely be too crowded.
I've ordered the 12N12A-4A-1, different brand than I had but dimensions are the same.
Sorry, I was trying to add photos but somehow I'm not the "administrator" any more (run into this problem a lot)

CA78 Battery
At least it looks like it's still sealed!
