rebuilt carbs-great start- and then two days later-no goodthe fuel lines were clear, bowls empty when i removed them. I jiggled the floats and nothing. then I removed the carbs with the lines still attached and jiggled the floats and gas flowed. reassembled and started her up. runs good now.
could be the root of a bigger problem? I suppose I'll have to go over through the carbs again to make sure. strange thx
Look, bro', 'sticky' just isn't right. Strip the carbs & clean with isopropanol or industrial (96%) alcohol to get rid of the sticky shit. After a rebuild, carbs should be surgically cleansed!
Mate, still reckon there's a shed-load-of-shite in the petcock/bowl/tank! Otherwise, what could be causing the carbs' floatbowls to not fill? C'mon, logical approach; work back through the prob.... afraid you gotta be right e3steve, I got to check it in the am. even tho I checked that thing a million times. the tank looks clean but can't see everywhere in it. BUT fuel filters should show some crap, or at least allow flow. they just seemed to hinder it all. we'll see what comes out in the wash.
thx
If you've used a silicon-based sealer on the petcock then nothing will manifest itself in the fuel system (not even fuel!). That stuff will stop an oil pump, me ol' mucker....
