transmission shims
transmission shims
Hi Guys, I've had the transmission shafts out of my '64 CB77 to replace some gear cotters and came across these two very thin washers/ shims. I never noticed them before until I was reassembling the mainshaft. Any idea where they should go ? thanks Ken.
These trannys never came with shims. That said, one can shim them to remove excess side play in trans. The problem is that Honda never issued shims specific to these trannys. I am now in the process of rebuildinga CL77 engine. The tranny did have excess side to side play, and I was able to find some shims that worked. The ones that you have should only fit in one place due to the inner diameter . Usually they are place on one end of the shaft. Hope this helps, and post some pics if not.
