Broken badge

I have a question about how to repair a broken plastic tank badge. My right side badge has a small pie shaped wedge missing from the edge. It's about a 1/4 " wide at the edge and comes to a point. The badge is in pretty nice shape other than that. Is there anything that can be used to fill the hole and at least make it presentable? I'd like to post a picture but can't figure out how to make it small enough. Thanks.

If you're willing to experiment, try using ABS adhesive (the kind for ABS plumbing pipes). You could make a masking tape dam and ooze the goo into the missing part of the badge until it's filled and then sand smooth. It won't be perfect but at least you've kept an original badge.

Thanks for the suggestion. I don't have any experience with that stuff.Does it dry clear or nearly clear.

It is black and it's a goopy (if that's a word) consistency.

Went into my toolbox this afternoon and saw a can of fiberglass resin. I'm thinking that should work pretty good. I'm going to try it tomorrow.

I'd suggest you pigment the resin black (someone should know how to do it) because the badge is clear plastic with the black finish applied to the back side. The resin will be yellowish so the repair will be more obvious. Let us know how this works out as I'm sure other people have this problem. Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll do some experimenting with that before I actually put it on the badge.
