Here is an example of a mixed bunch of different parts assembled then described as restored. ...............lm

Parts mix pointers....

Post by spmspeeder » Sun May 24, 2009 9:22 pm

Hey LM,

Could you please post a couple of the mistakes that you see?

I just came into a few CB77's that I would like to resurrect with my 19 year old son. I've been reading a fair amount on this forum and have learned a bunch but I'm not anywhere near up to speed on the subtle differences from model to model or year to year.

I've looked at the pictures on Ebay and I'm not sure how egregious the "mix" is... my guesses...

- chrome fenders
- rear taillight chrome
- kick start and foot pegs don't look right

wrong, wrong, wrong

Post by jleewebb » Sun May 24, 2009 11:00 pm

seat is wrong as seller admits...rear mounted footpegs look nice but not stock, no buddy pegs...transmission cover is from earlier model...tubes from carb overflows not necessary...spokes should be polished zinc plated, not chrome to be correct, right? A really nice looking bike, but not at all as it came out of box from factory...What else, Ed?

As long as we're tearin' 'em up, check this one out: http://www.sportscargallery.com/1968%20Honda%20CB77.htm ...only $6,900...
'62 CB77. "It's a rider."
