WIRE RETAINERS IN CLUTCH
Bill SILVER WROTE, TAKE THE WIRE RETAINERS OUT CLUTCH DRUM, TO AVOID THEM FROM BREAKING AND FOULING OIL PUMP/FILTER. ANY COMMENTS?

IMO that is/was a myth caused by the fact that when HONDA changed the semi thick first steel plate to a "twice as thick as the thin steel plates" we couldn't install the wires. Either when there were 2 or later when there were 3. When HONDA did redesign the center hub for the Thick Steel plate we could once again install the wires. Ya need to understand that 5 totally different clutch designs were issued until HONDA finally came through with the 1966 Cush Drive design and springs. Just a myth that they ever broke. ...................lm
