Here's how Ed took mine apart, more or less...this is a re-creation...idea is to pound 'em out from inside with right-angle phillips screwdriver.
Important note: he ground off peening on top of pins with dremmel tool first, pic shows after he re-peened them when reassembling.
Put a wadded up towel under it so you don't loose the pins, they're unobtanium I understand.

Wow thank you Ed and Lee. Just want to add a tip on this. First before you destroy any parts ask questions no matter how great of a technician you think you are. That being said:
During reassemble of the last end brass piston:::Make sure the holes for the knock pins are lined up. It is not symmetrical and will only align one way.
Hope this helps with anyone doing this. Please feel free to PM me if you are rebuilding a type one fork.
