cl77 driving me up the wall.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well darn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If the slides are installed in the correct carbs and they are bottomed out the engine should actualy not idle. The location of the the needle clip and it's jet aren't in play until ya raise the slide and air passes over the needle jet so I don't know what to tell ya. ........lm
lm thats what im trying to figure out.... ive ordered a another throttle cable i don't think its going to do anything becuae the slides are down. im tryint to find the throttle needle and seat... i have been leaving the air filters off and even had them on and its no diffrence someone told me something about it could be valves but i don't understand how. i put new floats valves and seats someone told me to order a cb77 instead of a cl77 carb kit anythoughts?
I install the CB77 kits in the CL77 carbs and have good results. ............lm
high idleHaving worked through this high idle thing a while back, I found air leak is one of the most common demmonds in the air fuel/idle problems on this forum. Someone even went to the trouble to shine a flashlight through the air passage to find light flooding past the slides. I do not remember how he solved the problem but it all sounds quite logical. It sounded like he had extreemly worn slides leaking air. In my case I had some old worn o-rings between the carb spacers and block. These old o-rings get hard and flat and do not seal properly and also too much torque on the carb nuts can distort the carbs to create air leaks. That is where I would spend some time in your case. Air leak. Just a thought, RW
