Hi,
partnumber of the head light unit is for a cb400f is 33120268632 , but that's the standard one (35 / 35 watt), so it fits. The aftermarket unit inserts are fiting within the original headring.

And just to confirm once more -- that CB400f headlight unit (33120268632) has a replaceable bulb, and is NOT a sealed beam unit?jensen wrote:Hi,

In employing a 55/60W lamp you will need to improve your charging with either a Rick's Motor Sport stator kit or a high output rotor, as Jensen has. The AM 162mm Ø beam unit here http://www.cycleseductions.com/candlepo ... hting.html employs an H4 lamp, also 55/60W.

Awesome. Thanks for the great info.
I spoke to Terry at Western Hills just a few minutes ago, and he only has the Stanley sealed beam units at $79.95 each. Don't know how they compare to the $18.00 Superior versions, but I think I'd prefer to source a replacement bulb type (the 35/35 type is fine).
Thanks again for your help, and I'll keep hunting!

It would be great to be able to identify the high-output rotor's part nº. You're quite right about the strength of the field; the density of tesla (magnetic flux), measured in webers (veebers) per sq metre (Wb/m²) will directly affect the output of the generator / alternator.jensen wrote:Hi,
I don't know, I picked the strongest one (I have 3 or 4 NOS magneto's left).
My conclusion that I have one is based on the fact that the ouput of my generator is substantyl higher then yours, so it shoul'd be high output one, what else coul'd it be ?
I'll compare my magneto's and will take pictures of it and see if there are differences between them.
I know that I have one low output magneto, because of the partnumber, it feld also very week.

This is becoming a really good think-tank now!

UPDATE: Goffy has stock of 12v H4 (P43t) 35/35W halogen and Philips Motovision. Go here http://www.norbsa02.freeuk.com/goffybulbs.htm and ctr-f ('Find') B1235MOH4. Couple with one of these http://www.cycleseductions.com/candlepo ... hting.html and Bob's-your-uncle!Vince Lupo wrote:Awesome. Thanks for the great info.
