Sudden Squeaky Front End??!!

Hey, anyone here suggest what to do when the front end of 1967 Dream starts sounding like a hamster wheel every time I even lean on the handlebars? I figure it must require some kind of grease/lubrication, but all I see behind the hub/fork assembly are two silver 'nipples' of sorts. Not exactly zerk fittings... any suggestions? Figure it is something simple, just can't figure it out at first glance.

It's probably the springs. They coil around the shocks. Take a small brush and paint very thin layer of grease on the shocks. Mine did the samething. Sorry, you'll have to remove them to do it.

Uuugh. Well, never done it, great time to learn I guess. Is there any damage per se going on if I put it off for a spell? Or is it grinding metal on metal ya think?

I don't think it's a problem at all. Just a bit annoying. I'll bet you that at least 8 out of 10 dreams do that to some degree.

Really. So is it generally a lubrication problem on the moving parts of the front suspension or is it the shock coils making contact?

Turns out, it needed some grease in the needle bearings. Seems to be quiet now.
