I bought this in July 2008. My whole experience with Superhawks was that I'd built a model of one when I was a kid. I knew I liked the bikes, and thought it would be a cool thing to have. I just wanted a rider, I didn't and don't really have ambitions for a full resto. But I took it a little farther than I originally intended....
I learned a lot about Superhawks and about this model in particular. This is a 1967 model, pretty late in the game. It has a chrome rear fender, larger taillight, little hoops for mounting turn signals, a lipped saddle with original trim and no tears (score!), larger exhast flanges, one piece mufflers, and had a gas tank without the usual siamese pipe to admit fuel from the right side of the tank. I had to replace the tank, so I now have a standard two-sided tank.
Sure has been fun, just a few more things to sort out and she's a daily rider! Enjoy the pics.

That's a beauty! I built one of those kits too and my big brother had a CB72 which I fell in love with at an early age. I still have a new in box Revell kit but it's not like the real thing.

The last frame but 4732 to be produced! I think you got your engine number 1000 out though; the last motor was 1056494.
Great looking bike; I love the contrast of the red tank! Get yourself a nice, chrome front fender and re-upholster the seat; it will really look the mutt's nuts, mate!
You know what would really finish it off, cosmetically? Paint the rear shocks' uppers the same red as the tank.....
