Clutch blockClutch blockClutch block---mine is angled so that my cable enters the side cover from the north west--if you get my meaning. Every picture I look at has the cable gooing straight in from the north.
Is this a stock clutch cable block (the one on my bike)? How could it effect my clutch action? Unrelated (kind of) when I turn my large clutch adjuster it moves in and out of the cover by a coupme of mm. Normal? 65ca77
clutch blockVP,
Although I have no experience with the dreams, your post got my curiosity up so I perused the web enough to find out that some clutch cables do in fact enter the side cover from different directions. Look at the dreams on the "for sale" page of this forum. Two early models from the left and two later models straight in from the north (I get the meaning). In either case the side covers are molded that way. Post pics and be a bit more specific about the rest and we'll see if a CA guru feller can clarify your other concerns. RW
Two types (I believe only two)* of cable anchor were issued; one drilled & tapped at 90º to the entry, the other at about 80º (NNE-ish) to give the clutch cable a gentler angle. The casings were changed at CA77E-1003392 (I can read....) having the cable entry anchor (block) moved forward for more support.
*EDIT: sorry guys, looks like three types for the CA; the very early casings had the clutch cable entry from NW with a very long cable routing through the frame and out under the r/h side cover. Research, research, research!
