CB 77 carport find

Post by maia » Sun Oct 04, 2009 8:48 pm

Here's my newest project, '63 cb77 actually more complete than it looks. Just missing knobs for the side covers and a steering damper knob. 19000 km on the clock, sat in a carport for 25 years, one owner, $800 CAD. I've got the motor apart and cleaned up, new pistons . More photos to come

side cover knobs

Post by jleewebb » Tue Oct 06, 2009 12:38 pm

I found a side cover knob at Western Hills Honda online. Part number is 83650-051-000. They call them "LATCH, BATTERY COVER." These are plain ones without the HM logo.

You'll also need the small nuts to safely secure them from vibrating off. Don't be tempted as I was to remove the nut to make it easier to line up sidecover by looking through hole before installing the knob.

The knob listed for $7.99 but was sold to me for $2.59 with $ 8.00 shipping and handling. Hope this helps. --Lee

Anyone know what those two holes are in the center of my '63 CB77 side panel? I'm painting and getting ready to fill them in as I haven't seen any badges or whatever in any photos. Thanks

There shouldn't be any holes on the air filter cover. Fill em up and paint it. Engine looks great! What exhaust is that?

P.S. Classic Honda Restoration has the air filter cover screws for $25 a pair as well.
