High idle? New carb,first start

Post by skampdaddy » Tue Feb 02, 2010 4:15 pm

JUst got my Dream running after sitting in a barn for 30 years.
New Wiseco piston kit Thanks Tim from Calssic Honda Restoration!!
New carb, cable everything.
Anways it got her to fire up for the first time the other night and she was idleing extremely high and won't back down. I have taken the carb off and everything is working.
The throttle slide with out throttle is half way down, is this correct?
No kinks in the cable
Why can't I get the idle to drop?

Skampdaddy, No that is not normal. The slide should go all the way to the bottom with the idle adjustment screwed all the way out. Check to ensure the slide is not installed backwards and also check for resistance between slide and carb. Cliff
