3rd gear binding3rd gear bindingAs I turn the output shaft and the shift drum 3rd gear binds up. When watching what happens I see that the dogs on 2nd gear and the dogs on 3rd gear are butting up against each other.
Now- This does not happen every time. It happens with the cases put back together dry (but case bolts not torqued) and while shifting with the gear selector pedal( by hand). Mainly happens when shifting from 4th down to 3rd. Any thoughts? This is a bit embarassing, but, for the sake of clarity, which is the main shaft and which is the counter shaft?
i have been turning the "output shaft" (the part that has the drive sprocket attached to it) in the direction it travels when the bike is moving forward. I am going to re check tranny installation with a correct picture later tonight.
Here is a video of the problem.
It also shows how I have my gears installed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kzaf_78vLiw any thoughts?
I don't know a whole lot yet, but I wondered that too... if it would be a problem when the engine is spinning, that is...
