Thanks for the pics, Steve.

These aren't some of those tricky photos that can sometimes lie, are they? (I've had some experiences with those!) I see that the ad depicts a black tail-light housing, so I'm just checking...

I'm debating right now as to what would be the easier fix: get the wrench out and re-position the lever, or, use PhotoShop to 'rotate' the lever and re-post my photo! :)

Wilf, you slay me! ;D

It just sits uncomfortably close to the right shin when it's that high. In your situation I'd pull the r/h casing, make sure that you get full lever movement without straining the return spring, then refit the casing. I just hold the k/s pedal so that it just touches the casing flange where the stator cover fits; slide it over the k/s shaft and let the lever return to its natural static position, folded pedal tip about 20mm from the casing flange.
I see that the ad depicts a black tail-light housing,
I noticed that, too!

That's too much work--I'm going with PhotoShop!

I'm pretty sure I've got everything inside the casing correct, so shouldn't I just be able to pull the arm off, rotate one or two splines and slip it back on?

HONDA in their wisdom indexed all the KS parts so the lever will be at a position which has it clearing your arch and gives the best kick angle.
If ya "Do It My Way" ya will have at least one problem with the lever position/angle.
Here is a pic of the index punch location. . ..............lm

Thanks for the pic, LM. I should be able to fix the position accurately from that.
