My new CB77Not to deflect you from Emma Peel fantasies, but that bike looks really nice.
It seems to me to be far from original though.. Forks, seat and exhausts seem to me to be very late production style, but the motor number is much earlier suggesting a bike built from parts. Maybe the best parts from many bikes, but not matching. The frame number appears to have been changed to make it match the incorrect engine number. Rims are stamped on the outside of the rim, which AFAIK makes them modern replacements. Add in new spokes, a paint that is way too new and shiny to be original and we have a very nice Honda CB77 which as LM suggested is not a resto and technically not a rebuild (of one bike) but very nice all the same. Just speculation of course. my new cb77teazer
Thanks for the coments on my bike, I think your right the bike is made up of bits but I carn't find out who did the work. But even so he did a good job especially with the choice of colour. On the subject of the rims I have been given a rear to replace the one fitted, it has a (DID) stamp on it.Is this original ? Thanks Steve I will look on the wiring harness for the tag. will I have to remove the tank ? Haven't had much time to ride it but its starting to get warmer. Hears a photo of it sitting in its home next to Emma car
Hi Jonty, yes, the tank needs to come off, but don't do that specially for this info; wait until you need to remove it. If you've not taken a CB tank off before, it takes a bit of attention to detail when your paint is that nice!
I tape up the front edges of the tank with 6 layers of blue (low-tack) masking tape each side. And the crossover pipe between the petcock and the r/h tank drop -- if your model has the crossover -- requires special attention; even then, petrol pisses everywhere! I've taken to draining the tank, on 'RESERVE' via the carbs' feed tubes nowadays. Incidentally, I bought one of Sirius Consolidated's dual-shutoff connectors for the crossover but not fitted it yet; it's for 5/16" (8mm) id tube and I've yet to play the stretching game....
Re: my new CB77AGREED!!! I really like it. The reserection job is first rate! ![]() Steve, Please find attachment of the harness tag you require.
