Hi all, wanted to introduce myself before I begin asking for advice. As a teenager I saved money to buy a Superhawk, but when the day came a salesman convinced me to buy the latest/greatest Suzuki X6 instead. Within a few days I realized I made a mistake- I had fun with the X6, but every time I saw a Superhawk I kicked myself. 
So, 45 years later, while rooting through a junkyard for Jeep parts I came across my teenage dream- a rusted pile of a Superhawk- no sheetmetal- engine with no covers, carbs, exhaust- broken motor mount lugs, etc, but the lines of the engine and frame that grabbed me as a teenager were still intact.
I'm envious of people who start with 'barn finds'- mine is a 'field find', I had to dig the wheels out of 6" of dirt and drag the bike with rusted solid brakes/wheels back to my trailer. Other junk yards have contributed some more parts, CA engine mostly intact, CL engine parts, a few bits and pieces- enough to start, and Ebay seems to have a fairly steady stream of CB stuff, so there's ne reason I shouldn't be able to put a 'bitsa' Superhawk together- I'm a hot rodder, so I'm not worried about making the bike 100% correct.
If I get this built and ride it once I'll be happy.
