Needle Jet Removal

Post by Dr. Frankenstein » Sat Jun 05, 2010 2:35 pm

Does anybody know which way (and how) the needle jet on a 1964 CA77 comes out? Is it tapped out through the jet shaft, (where it would normally fall into the carb bowl), or tapped out the other way, where it would fall out through the carb needle/riser passage?

And my jets say 20 and 35; is this correct?

Thanks ya'll; it's hotter than hell in the garage today...

John, tap it out from the top, towards float bowl. I'm not sure of jet sizes for CAs, but probably 120 and 35.

Thanks Dave; it looked like it could go either way,and I don't want to mash that delicate brass rim...and yes, they're 120 and 35, so at least I know I have the right jets...

The brass main jet holder keeps the needle jet in place. .............lm
