Teazer,

I solved that issue placing the pick-up magnet in different diameters on the rotor itself. The advance timing for both pick up points is the same.

I just took another look at that German electronic ignition. It seems to be nicely designed and manufactured, but the interesting thing is that full advance comes in around 6000 depending on the curve.

Stock CB/C/Cl is supposed to be at full advance at 3000 and with worn or saggy springs that will arrive earlier.

That makes me wonder if less advance in the midrange might be useful with modern gas. I have read a couple of posts making reference to mid speed pinging and it occurs to me that maybe some bikes benefit from a slower advance curve.

I guess a simple answer would be stronger springs or just dial in less total advance and be done with it, but I was never one for simple solutions as LM observed already. I have not run enough of these bikes on the street in recent years to know if that's an issue or a solution looking for a problem.
