The rear rim is from MikesXS yamaha parts for 650 twins and the 305 hub is the same dia. as the yamaha so the spokes work. The front is an old dirt bike Akront as anything new is difficult to find in that size or expensive (Buchanans ) It took a LOT of work to get it looking OK, rim lock holes were welded shut and all the dings and nicks were welded up and ground down then the whole thing polished but I think the looks make it worthwhile and the cost was cheaper than having the original rims re-chromed. I've kept all the original stuff in case I want to do a proper resto later, at the moment I think it looks good enough to be my daily rider.

I'm a little confused at the moment ( what's new ) I have a 4 wire headlight switch that has only 2 positions, no center position and I'm trying to figure out what is supposed to happpen in those 2 positions. At the moment when I turn on the ignition the headlight lights up regardless of position. Is this correct or is this really an on/off switch for the headlight? LM said the "other" position kicks in another coil for charging. Hope you can help. I just love electrical problems! Thanks.

When installed and the knob is straight forward all systems are off.
When turned to the right lights are on. ............lm

how much were those wheels? I like the thicker rim, and I assume they are lighter.

$89 US from Mikesxs. 2.15 X 18 rear. The front is an old Akront from a dirt bike with rim locks welded up and lots of polishing.

Maia, I think you'll find that you need to ignore column 'ML' and row 'PARKING LIGHT POSITION' on the schematic. I've not seen the wiring diagram variant nor the 4-wire switch, so I can't comment authoritatively; but, looking at it logically that's how I'd interpret it.

What markings do the 4 terminals have?
