i'm not sure if my clutch is working when i put the side cover on after hooking up the cable there doesnt seem to be any resistence other than the return spring in side the cover the clutch shaft and ball bearing are there they just dont seem to be engaging the clutch.

any suggestions

Did you adjust the big screw (adjuster) that goes thru the sidecase?

There is a single ball-bearing inside the lifter mechanism that bears onto the end of the clutch pushrod. That may have fallen out.

Ball Bearing Location

I am having similiar symptoms as I just replaced the clutch cable. Where exactly should the bearing be located. Microfiche doesn't show enough detail.
