I just bought a 1967 CA77 305 Dream that needs lots of TLC and various and sundry replacement parts.
Searching for cables on the Honda parts fiche, I find that there are two different handle bars listed.
How would I be able to determine which ones would be on my bike. I assume that there is an appreciable difference in the length of the cables that would be required for #1 & #2?
The #2 bars appear to have more height and I would say that mine are more the #2 style.
Any knowledge that someone can share on the topic is appreciated.
Thanks.
Handle bars (1) & (2)
I'm from Omaha, Nebraska. I have a 1968 S90 and a 1975 CB550. I always wanted to restore a Dream. I found one that is extremely rough so it will be a challenge.
I tried to post photos but files were too large. I'll have to try to figure that out.
The through the handle bars throttle system is exactly like my S90. I hope the actuator is of better quality. They use a cheap pot metal on the S90 and it has gotten very sloppy over the years.
I'll post pics when I can figure out how to.
Thanks.

according to my parts book CA77-10001 to CA77-20902 got the "early" handlebar treatment and CA77-100001 onwards got the "later" handlebars. .. Mine is 401283 and has the "later" bars..brewsky wrote: The later year dreams used a slide action throttle with the cable running thru the bars and exiting thru a slot in the bars.
There is also a long slot in the bars under the twistgrip for the throttle actuator to slide in.
quidger, cables show up on fleaBay regularly and there are several sources for them, but know what length you need. I've got a clutch cable that a PO put on and it's a foot too long. It meant they had an extra loop in the frame that made clutch pull harder. oi.

quidger,
I can't help you with the CA as I'm a CL man, but I can help you with the pics. Go to "off topic", page 6 about 3 down and follow Guns tutorial on downsizing your pics. You may be SOL if you use a mac though. Also I've had good luck by cropping my pics, save as a new name and upload the new pic. That works as well. RW
