This Year's Mileage?

Post by Vince Lupo » Tue Nov 02, 2010 5:32 am

Hi There -- since we're coming to the end of the riding season (at least for those of us in parts of the world with a cold winter), I was curious to know how you guys did this year, mileage-wise, on your Dreams, SuperHawks and Scramblers? Did you manage to get out more than you thought you would this year, or did mechanical issues, combined with other commitments, prevent you from getting out more than you wanted?

I probably have another month of riding available, then I'm going to embark on the winter projects. Haven't really calculated the mileage up until this point in the year, but I'm thinking that it's around 3300 miles on the SuperHawk (not as much as last year). My goal has been to hit the 24,000 mile mark on the odometer before the end of the year, but I'm not sure that I'm going to make it (about 560 miles to go).

Vince,
I certainly don't ride as much as you but I did get in about 300 miles on a scrambler I sold in mid summer and then put my 67 back together for a 500 mile last half season. I'll certainly get a little riding between rain storms but not much.
BTW, I even got a couple hundred miles in on my other ride. She's a sweet ride and has a bit more personality than the scrambler. But then she's a whole different story. RW

Hi,

We had a nice summer this year, and in the evening I took the bikes out for a ride on a regular base.
For the company I drove the most miles, to costumers (brewery's).

This year I rode the bomber for 1750 miles, odometer now reads 4500 miles, and I'm planning to ride it as long as possible. The CB400F '75 did 9.000 km, the CB72'67 8500 km.

On the XRV750 Africa twin I did only 2700 km, so I'm shifting from modern to classic more and more.

Didn't get too many miles on the Dream, spent all summer chasing the oil problem.
Probably only put on about 600 mi.

It was great riding weather here most of the season. My wife and I put about 6,500 mi. on the Goldwing, all local,no trips.

Vince, between my V-Strom, my dirt bike, my dual sport bike, and my herd of 305s, I can not even begin to guess annual milage. Having only one keeps it simple eh?

Only done about 250 miles on my CB77 this year but that was 200 miles in one day, a trip to a bike show. Not used much, fine days only but the speedo reads 41768 miles on its second time around, nearly 142000 miles.
Been about 5900 kms on my CX so far this year, 3220 kms in one week on a North Island tour and I plan to do another trip of about 2350 kms in a 1000miles in 24 hours next month. The only way to travel.
