Just bought another superhawk

Post by cyclon36 » Wed Nov 10, 2010 10:11 am

Found a deal on craigslist for this guy. Listed at $500 but I talked down to $300 with only minimal eye rolling from my wife. They said it ran when it was parked last year so the engine is probably mostly ok. It's going down for parts regardless as I need to fill some spare parts bins in my collection as well as trying to recoup some money on ebay.

Although, it looks like the parts market is going downhill recently. Mrmonkeyclaw just sold a kick stand for $28. I never thought I'd see one pass for less than $60. Hopefully uncut front fenders are still catching some value as I just scooped one up for $30 with a steering damper.

Now taking requests :-)

superhawk

Cyclon, Selling parts on ebay this time of year usually brings less $$$ for me. I seem to do best after Christmas when guys get back to restoring their bikes.

Good tip. I'm guessing most money is going to buying presents for others. Seems like it should be an advantageous time for buying parts though. Maybe a race seat will pop up for $200 :-)

I didn't think the lip on the 66-67 was that extreme. Anyway, i'm actually picking it up Saturday so I haven't seen it in person yet. Once I do pick it up, I'll post some more detailed pics here.

Not sure what a flyside cover is. However, most of the items are on ebay already: http://motors.shop.ebay.com/kozinojoe/m.html
