Zinc plating
Okay Wilf - thanks. I'm waiting for my zinc. I'll probably try the D batteries to be safe. I'll report in when I have some results - won't be for awhile. My zinc comes at Christmas when my son visits from the US. He's bringing a couple of bars I purchased.
Thanks again! ............ GG

Wal Mart, Dome Depot etc. has a good selection of plastic containers (rubbermaid brand) with lids so you can keep your bath sealed up.
I use pure zinc Bullion bars you can get off ebay for cheap here you go >>>> http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... K:MEWAX:IT
the bars last a very long time if I had to guess you could plate every zinc part on 50 motorcycles with a 2# bar & still had some bar left over. For voltage supply also ebay you can pick up a good used plating rectifier fo $50 & up depending on how much you want to spend.

I use at least a couple bars in a small bath. Zinc is fairly soft so you can cut the bars & space them out if need be. Whatever you use if you gonna hang around the perimeter of the container only let the zinc hang into the bath. Letting a copper or aluminum wire hang into the bath can screw up the bath & the zinc transfer will not be thrown off.
