I did some digging on the Shinko SR 208 (since I like that tread pattern better than the Cheng Shins) and found this site that has the following info:
4ply
"P" Speed Rating (equal up to 93mph)
Load index of 48 (397lbs)
Has anybody tried them?

In looking around I found that these whitewall inserts are on clearance for $13.00/pair.
I also heard that the molds used for the Coker/Firestone whitewall tires is being moved back to the US and production probably won't resume until next Summer.
I'm probably going to get a set of the Shinko tires and try them with the whitewall inserts..
edited to add: smalltires.com called and said they're out of the Shinko tires until probably the first of the year.
