Howdy: Can anyone send me a link to the forum thread about indexing the kick starter gear when replacing the right hand cover?
Btw, the search function is really broke as I tried every way I could think of to search for this and came up with nothing relevant.
Thanks
Clarence

Re: Indexing Kick starter
Easy enough.
Ya want the lever to index to 11:00 when turned in.
Ya start by turning the Kick Shaft clockwise to stop.
Hold the Kick Lever at apx. 10:00 and push in.
If the KL isn't at 11:00 now do it again. ..........lm

Took the cover off as the kick starter was flopping around from not being indexed:

Looked real clean inside.
Kick starter spring and Clutch mechanism all look great, didn't mess with springs as everything looks ok, the little ball bearing is in it's recess:

Put it back together following Lm's direction; does seem to be in more 10 o'clock then 11:

I was surprised when mine did like yours Sascha, turning when I put it into gear and roll it. So what spring is loaded wrong?
Thanks for the help LM.

Just be sure to load the spring on the kick correctly or it will move when you roll the bike... learned that the hard way didnt I LM?!

clarenceada,
You simply loaded the spring by rotating it the wrong way... Take it off and rotate in the opposite direction... PM me if you cant figure it out.
