I think it's Retro Bikes who sells a ready-made, direct replacement rec of 'modern' diodes. Those on the site that you've provided a link-to are reg-recs and, as such, do require greater heat dissipation.

Aha! I recognise that; it's the same as the one fitted to my '69 unrestored CB250.

Brew, do you remember which classic retailer has the original-looking but silicone-diode recs? I can find one on Retro Bikes' for a CL but not for a CB.

Ya, and Honda charges $107 for them.

Looks like he bought a bunch from Radio Shack (or some other vendor) and made up his own supply to sell.

I just talked to Terry at Retrobikes and he sold out of the CB and CA issue but will now look into ordering more. ..........lm

I believe Retrobikes was the only retailer who had the original looking modern version.
