i have just put new pistons and rings in and a valve job, but the book i have does not have any torque specs for the head, can anyone help, its a 1964 honda 305 dream, thanks yogi64

Hey Yogi, standard spec is 16 ft lbs if I remeber correctly. Most of us go2-4 ft lbs higher than that. I always retorque them after the engine has sat for 24hrs, and they always seem to need it. I guess that the gaskets settle in a bit after being torqued. This can be impossible to do on the inner bolts with the engine installed, so patience is required. Also, edit your location into your profile when you get a chance!
