'67 CA77 305 Dream still in the crate

Post by MAXEYS1962 » Thu Jan 20, 2011 4:36 pm

We have a 1967 CA77 Dream 305 never opened still in the original shipping crate from Japan. We are now looking in to pricing for collectors to sell this bike and I wanted to get some feedback from the members of this forum so that I could get an idea of the demand this rare bike has and start getting some sort of an idea of what kinda money that would be involved in this kind of sale. Questions and comments are greatly appreciated.

Maxey, how about posting pics of the bike/and or the documentation. The crate should at least be opened enough to verify the condition. Sounds like ya might really have something there..............................D

Dream in crate

I'm sure we would all like to see a picture of that.
Sounds an awful lot like a scam that was going around in the 70's. Guys were selling WWII Harley Davidsons new still in the crates. They were taking $100.00 deposits. There were never any bikes in crates and a lot of people lost $$$.

Pardon me for being suspicious, but you just joined the forum today.

Sounds cool. I would imagine it would be a big dilemma though like a collector of vintage toys that are still in the package. Does the value go down if you take it out of the box? You know you want to play with it :-)

DREAM 305 IN CRATE

Post by MAXEYS1962 » Thu Jan 20, 2011 5:37 pm

I don't currently have any pics, but all that I can get pics of is the crate and Title because the bike is actually bagged in the crate and I was told NOT to open the bag. There are a couple of news articles if you search "son keeps fathers dream alive" in OKC. I am with Maxeys Cycles in Oklahoma city my name is Jason and really I am just doing research and getting as much information as I can on this deal I really don't think this bike is going to be sold on the internet and this Thread is not a sales Thread just research.

DREAM 305 STILL IN CRATE

What is kinda cool though is the bike has never been sold so whoever buys will be the original owner and were not sure but the warranty has never issued either so would the warranty still be valid ? I'm sure its not but its still a cool thought.
