Hiya,
I'm soliciting feedback on how daily and highway riding are from someone who has X'd their gears before I swap 'em.

x-ing
I ride my cl geared for the hi way more or less. X-ing gives you a much easier gear change through all the gears. A cl I sold last summer did not have it done and I really noticed the difference. Stock, it had a huge drop to 2ND. and 3rd to 4Th was minimal and not much rpm change. X and you get a more evenly spaced rpm change through all the gears. That's my 2 cents, FWIW,,,,,,,,,Rusty
IMHO X-ing is the only way to go. I had one CB77 that wasn't X'd, and it was not nearly as easy to ride. There is a really large gap between first and second. If you rev it pretty high in first, then it's O.K. If you try to short shift, fahgetaboudit!
