Is there where a newbie gets info on a Dream purchase?UPDATE

Post by pknopp » Mon Mar 21, 2011 8:07 pm

I've looked for a very long time (off and on) for a 305 Dream. My dad had one in the 60's and I've always wanted one. I've leaned towards a red one but I've found a black one within reasonable traveling distance and condition.

Is this where I ask about what to look for? I've owned more than a few CB's but never a 60's Honda of any sort. (I currently only own a MB50 as far as Honda goes). This be it. A 63.

Welcome to the h305 forum-chances are if you cant get an answer here then you stumped us...lol
That is a nice example of a good used dream-from what I can tell from one side shot is that it is mostly complete-the carb covers are missing but it looks to have alot of dealer installed options
such as the front fender guard, the passenger backrest and the rear carrier/taillight protector
I would check compression first, make sure spark is there, and try not to act too excited when you are loading it in the truck....What are they asking for it?

Buy it, if you can afford it, opportunities only arise when they do. I'd make an offer on the car as well..............................D

that is actually a 62 model. as such will have a somewhat higher value than the later (63-67) models. a bit dressy for my taste, but that's what they did in the day with these things. figure about $100 for the carb covers.
Good luck

A 62? Interesting. It runs and rides. (So the owner states) It currently has lisc and insured so it's not one that hasn't been touched for years.

I saw the old Dodge/Plymouth in the pic. I currently have a 56 Pontiac and a 76 Pacer so the bike will do for now. I've offered 1K. (Just under what he's asking)

Welcome to the forum!

Looks like a nice one.

I would check the headlight to make sure both beams work.....they are hard to replace.

Those tires cannot be replaced (narrow ww's), but are probably be too old to trust for many highway miles.

Where are you in WV?

I'd snag that in a second! If it's original paint and has no rust it's worth at least $2,500 and probably a lot more.

NADA; $2,175 very good,$4,100 excellent.
