Tires and Mufflers....

Post by KellieLyyne » Tue Apr 26, 2011 6:12 pm

Hi everyone, I am getting close to putting my 1963 Dream back together after a complete resto. I have been looking around for exhaust options (since my original mufflers look like someone hit a lot of curbs), and I have to start looking for tires. I know that the inlet diameter for the mufflers is 1 1/2" and I am finding a lot of 1 3/4" inlet options and of course you can use reducers and all that jazz, but I was wondering, has anyone found a good sounding muffler that compliments the bike, where you don't need to use reducers?

Now, I am looking at tires, and I saw that Universal has some 325-16 Firestone M/C Tire 1 1/2 Inch Whitewalls. Has anyone ran these on their bikes? If so, how do they handle?

Any and all comments and pictures would be a GREAT help.

Hello,

Sorry I don't have any whitewalls. Either Universal just got more stock of whitewall tires or I was unaware that they had them. What I have to offer is Heidenau 3.50x16 tires in a vintage looking tread pattern.

More info here.

I now also have some 3.50x16 Cheng Shin C-155 tires available at $45 each plus $10 shipping.

Thanks

Thanks Kevin, I appreciate the links. I really want white walls on this bike. But when I replace my other tires I will definitely keep you in mind.

I've got the Coker Firestones on my '66 Dream and love them.
