Never know what mystery lurks inside!.....but will it live to ride again?
Stay tuned for tomorrows episode...
E-bay carb surprise!
My test carb
Brewski Here's my test carb I'm running thru my ultrasonic parts cleaner. I love the pretty colors and patterns of the different typs of corosion on the brass and carb body. I'm having a big problem removing the float pin as it's had many years to become one with the carb body. I'm worried that if I try to drive it out I may break one or both of the pin towers. Anybody have any voodoo tricks to extract the little bugger?

I wire brush (brass) each end and blow away as much gunk from the ends as possible with air.
Then soak with PB Blaster and patience. Tap lightly with a punch on each end till you find out which way it wants to come out. If that doesn't work, soak it again, wait, and try again.
A little heat would probably help, but I've not needed it yet.
BTW....Thanks for the quick service on the air screw!
