Picking up a 1961(Supposedly) CA77 Honda Dream Tomorrow

Post by Vdubver » Thu May 26, 2011 10:07 am

I found a supposed 1961, not sure if the year is the actual year of the bike, CA77 Honda Dream here in Alabama about 3 hours from myself. I have been told that the motor is seized, but I am going to inspect if it is just the kickstart or if the motor is actually seized. He said that the kickstart will not move. I did a little research and I believe it to be a CA77 from the picture I have seen (more are supposed to be sent to me today). It seems like a neat project, seeing as I am into the air-cooled VW scene, I have a 1967 beetle, 1972 Karmann Ghia, and a 1967 Bus. I am excited about it, it will be my first motorcycle. Any tips and things to look out for would be much appreciated. I figured posting would be better than searching endlessly, which I have been doing anyways. I will try and post pics as they come in and after I pick her up for $300 tomorrow.

**Okay apparently this is a CA95 or CA160?

Looks like a CA95, or a CA160, not a CA77. Chain on the left side is a dead giveaway!

front fender is buggered pretty bad. Motor stuck. Will take a lot of money to get this one going let alone decent. Would be ok for a parts bike

It's not a 160 as the points of the 160 are on the left side. ...........lm
