sparkplugs?
Davo is spot on.
The slides should close all the way. Are the throttle stop screws in too far? Did they get screwed in all the way and backed out 1.5 turns instead of the mixture screws?
Are the flanges bowed from a PO over tightening them? Are the O rings still in the tufnol spacers? Are the spacers flat?
Are you sure? :-)

O-rings on flanges
Hey Naptown,
You might need to check the nylon spacers. Put them on a piece of glass, with the sandpaper on the glass, and sand them lightly with very fine sandpaper. If the surface is not flat, you will need to sand them flat. Also, the o-rings often get smashed and hardened. You can often find a quick substitute in a hardware store, although they might be too thick. Just tighten them not-too-hard - at least you'll see if this is the problem. Then get the right ones.
When you set the floats, you didn't let the float REST on the needle, right? You have to set the floats to where the needle is JUST CONTACTING the seat. You have to look very carefully as to when the float is just contacting the needle. If you let the float sit down on the needle with it's weight, you will be setting the float incorrectly, and the actual fuel level will be too low - creating a lean mixture, which will give you an elevated rpm situation.
We're rooting for you!

ITS ALIVE!!!!!!
I fixed it! its running pretty good, only thing is when i get to 3rd gear top end it wants to bog down samething with top end of 4th gear. it will only go about 50 mph. so i got some buggs to work out, but it should be okay.
