Any idea what this is?

I have this extra piece sitting around from my CA77 and can't figure out what it is. Does anyone have any idea what it is and where it goes? Any help would be appreciated.

Part no 50314-259-000 holder frame, mudguard

this holds the small rubber flap which fits between frame and rear of the engine.
